Doors for the registration open at 7:00pm and will close at 8:30pm.

KV Judo Club will be hosting the 2018 Judo NB Provincials and the Greg Halpin Memorial Kids Tournament on the weekend of February 10 and 11, 2018 at the Harry Miller Middle School.

Members of the KV Judo Club are in Montreal this weekend for the 2016 Quebec Judo Open. Matches can be seen live on TCgo.ca/judo.

NOTE : there are a few changes : classes will be Monday and Wednesday evenings with the following times for classes.
Returning and new students will be able to register for the 2016 - 2017 season during the first few classes. A representative for KV Judo Club will have a table set up out side of the mini-gym during classes to answer any question you may have. They will also be able help you with registration.

This past Sunday, February 7th seen the 4th annual Greg Halpin Memorial Kids Tournament with over 150 parcicipants. Below are some of the kids doing their warm-up.

We will be hosting the Judo NB Provincials and the Greg Halpin Memorial Kids Tournament on February 6 and 7, 2016
at the
Harry Miller Middle School.
This takes a lot of work and I am hoping many people will volunteer so these tournaments will be great successes. I will be putting up jobs we need volunteers for at the door to our dojo (club). We will need people to help move mats and return the mats after the tournaments. If you have a truck to assist with this job that will be greatly appreciated. If you do not have a truck we still need your muscle. We need two males and females for weigh ins. Veronica Gower has volunteered to be our canteen coordinator but will need lots of help in the canteen. Leslie Vanderbeck has volunteered to take charge of our scorekeepers and timekeepers. The score keeping and timekeeping jobs should be done by people in our adult class. Lori Webster has volunteered to take care of the registration and to keep me on task so you can only imagine the help she needs. If you help in anyway it will be greatly appreciated.
With lots of help we can make these tournaments very successful!

In the above photo is Sensi (coach) Jeff Porter with judoka Anna Gormley from the KV Judo Club. Anna Gormley won a bronze medal on October 31st at the Quebec Open in Montreal. The Quebec Open is an international Judo Tournament. It is one of the biggest tournaments in Canada.
Anna Gormley has also been chosen to participate at the Elite Invitational National Judo Championships in Montreal in January of 2016. She is ranked 3rd in Canada in her category. Anna will be joined by Ryan Cameron also from the KV Judo Club who will be making his second appearance in two years.
Students have asked me to start a competitive judo class on Friday evenings. What does this mean? This class will be more about doing drills than teaching. It will benefit all judokas but especially those who like and want to compete. We will start Nov. 6th and the class will go from 5:30 - 6:30. It is for all students 10 and older with a yellow belt and higher.
The cost is $10 / class, but if the cost is stopping you from attending please contact me. I do not want anyone not doing judo due to money!

We have some students that will want to attend the Nationals in Calgary in May 2016. Obviously this will be quite an expensive adventure for these students and thus they have started to raise some money through fundraising.
Presently we are selling tickets on a 3 month free membership. These tickets are being sold during our class times on Sunday and Wednesday.

A few new faces and lots of old friends started class and are well on their way to a great season.
If your wondering if Judo is for you, why not try a class. Come see if this sport / exercise / self defence is for you. Speak to any of our instructors for guidance and advice of what will fit your needs.
Returning or new students be sure to fill our our "KV Judo Club" registration and the "Judo NB" registration form both found on the "Classes " page.
Please use only these forms, the information they provide help both the Club and Judo NB.
Posted September 29th, 2015Thanks to those who made it out Thursday evening for the Community Fall Expo at the qplex to register for the coming 2015 - 2016 season.
Classes will start after school starts up, September 13th, Sunday will be the first class.

On the "Events" page, an updated link to the Judo NB events calendar was created - yes quite similar to the Home page. No articles were harmed in the making of these changes.
