Classes
Classes
Classes are held in the KV High school mini gym Monday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30. Students can drop in to any class and try the first one for free.
Note: classes are generally cancelled on holidays and on any day that school is cancelled.
What to wear
A Judo uniform (jacket, pants and belt) can be purchased thru the club. After a few classes there will an announcement regarding the ordering of suits. To start students can wear gym clothes. We recommend gym pants and a long sleeve shirt. Please keep in mind that these clothes will most likely be damaged, since most Judo techniques involve grabbing and pulling the clothing.
Club Rules
Parents (of younger students) are asked to wait for their children outside of the mini-gym. There are two large windows and the door to the gym will be open for parents to watch.
The instructors will not be able to leave the mini-gym to take students to the washroom. For the safety of all the students: Parents are expected to walk their children into the dojo (gym where judo class takes place) as well as pick them up at the dojo at the end of class and students are expected to use the washroom prior to attending their class.
Other users of the school will be in the building at the same time.
Students are asked to leave their outside footwear in the hallway outside the mini-gym.
Shoes are not allowed on the mat as shoes will damage the mat surface.
Students should be in their bare feet when on the mat. Socks will be slippery.
Students should bring a water bottle for water breaks.
