Sensei
The KV Judo Club has had many students obtain their Black belt level and has produced many champions but most of all we are proud to offer a club where youth and adults can learn the sport of Judo in a fun and safe environment.
The following are brief profiles of each of the instructors of the KV Judo Club that have made this possible.
Andrew (Andy) MacBean
Sensei Andy began his Judo career at the YMCA Judo Club in Fredericton in 1985. Since that time he has instructed at several clubs including the YMCA in Fredericton, the UNB Judo Club, and the Shutokai Judo Club
His experience as a Judo instructor began in 1989 and he joined the KV Judo Club during the 2000/2001 season.
Sensei Andy was promoted to Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in 1996 and to the rank of Nidan (2nd degree Black Belt) in 2005.
In 2013 he was promoted to Sandan (3rd degree black belt). He has also attained his NCCP level 2.
Lynsey Welling
Sensei Lynsey began her Judo career at the Shutokai Judo Club in Fredericton in 1994. She has been coaching Judo since 2002 and has instructed students of all ages and ranks.
She was promoted to the rank of Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in 2006 and joined the KV Judo club in 2007. She is currently serving on the Judo NB board of directors as President.
Trevor Nisbet
Sensei Trevor began his Judo career in 2007 with the KV Judo Club, working his way up to coaching.
He was promoted to Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in 2013.
Thomas Nisbet
Sensei Thomas began his Judo career in 2007 with the KV Judo Club, working his way up to coaching.
He was promoted to Shodan (1st degree Black Belt) in 2013.
